My Smoothie Brings All The Moms To The Yard!
With acai bowls and energy balls still being on major trend, a lot of us have put the good ol’ regular smoothie on the back burner. Not me! I have always been a smoothie fan because nothing can replace this quick and easy protein fix (especially after a workout)!
Plus, when you add kids and babies into the mix, a smoothie is a lifesaver. I never leave the house in the morning starving, which means I don’t end up splurging on an almond croissant or cookie at the local hipster coffee shop down the street after school drop off. A smoothie, in my opinion, is a game changer for #momlife. I can literally throw the kitchen sink into my blender, give it a spin and pour it into a glass and off I go!
But here’s the real difference. I am actually not throwing the kitchen sink into my morning smoothie. For this month’s So Yummy Mommy recipe, we kept is super simple. It’s just 7 to 8 ingredients and that’s it!
Ingredients
Handful of spinach
Scoop of vanilla protein powder
A nub of ginger
1/2 banana
1 ½ tbsp. of peanut butter
1 tbsp of Lynq unflavoured powdered – optional
1 ¼ cup of water
½ cup of ice
Directions: place ingredients in blender and blend until it is your desired consistency. Pour into your glass or into a cup as you head out the door!
In this smoothie alone, you are guzzling down tons of benefits. From the calcium in the spinach to the anti-inflammatory effects from the ginger, this smoothie gives you a whole lot of goodness without a whole lot of time spent in the kitchen! The addition of Lynq Empowered Blend also adds an extra healthy kick. It’s made with 12 organic fruits and vegetables, plus 50% of your daily recommended value of vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K. And if smoothies aren’t your thing for breakfast, this is great for post-workout too. If you like a thicker or creamier consistency, try subbing almond milk for the water. Press play to watch it all in action. It’s too easy not to give it a try! Psst … mornings are NEVER this calm in my house, but you get the point!
