Keepin' 2016 Resolutions Real
If getting fit or improving your health is on your "resolution" list this year, you're not alone. More than 80% of people feel the same way every year. But how do we keep our resolutions real ... this is how:
Tip #1
Be Realistic. Six-pack abs don't happen overnight; sustainable results happen over time. Try picking a pair of jeans you love and use them as a measure of your progress. Don't give up coffee (that's just crazy), but do tell yourself not to have a croissant with EVERY single coffee. Set short-term goals - for example, start with aiming for two workouts a week for the month of January and progress to three workouts for February. And don't be afraid to change your resolution if you find it just isn't working for you. Be flexible, but commit.
Tip #2
Prepare. Try setting time aside Sunday evening to prep some meals and snacks for the week. Setting time aside to do this will only result in success. Dedicate that time up front and it will be smooth sailing during the week. Try this breakfast smoothie recipe that could make eating in the morning a tad bit easier AND healthier!
Tips #3
Don't beat yourself up. If you fall off track, don't worry. It's not the end of the world, however, have the willpower to get back on plan. You're human, so do not beat yourself up. Ever.
Here's a 15-minute circuit you can try at home this week:
10 x burpees
15 x bodyweight squats
20 x alternating lunges
25s plank
Rest 60s, repeat for 15 minutes and that's it!
Lastly, we hope that everyone's 2016 is off to a healthy and happy start!
