Winter Vacay Mode ON

If you were following along on my IG during the holidays, I am sure you saw me and my family do a mini staycation up at Blue Mountain in December. So many of you messaged me directly about it, so I thought it would be easier to write a blog post on our staycation to share all the details. It was exactly what the doctor ordered just before the holiday chaos kicked in.

Sleep. Ski. Repeat.

I’ll start by saying that this staycation was so memorable because we stayed at the most incredible chalet. We were hosted by Stay At Blue Mountain at their 107 Birch View Trail location. It exceeded our expectations on all accounts! Although it was just the four of us, this newly-renovated chalet can accommodate up to 20 people. The girls had so much fun playing hide and seek amongst the 10 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If I asked them right now what was their favourite part of the staycation, they would definitely say every part of the chalet. While they loved the massive games room in the basement, I have to say that I loved the open-concept gourmet kitchen with a beautiful view of the Blue Mountain range.

What Did We Do in Blue Mountain?

You can’t go to Blue Mountain and not hit the slopes. I would highly suggest making an online reservation in advance as the walk-in line is so long and you’re not guaranteed a lift ticket. We wish we knew that in advance, but we were lucky and we were able to get out there. Phew! While it was fun and Harper did go on her first black diamond (yay!), the girls just wanted to hang at the chalet. Besides the game room, which took the cake of course, our family enjoyed cozying up in front of the fireplace watching movies on the extra large 4K TV! It really was a spectacular set up at 107 Birch View Trail! And then when the girls would crash on the comfy couch watching movies, we would carry them to one of the luxury beds in one of the many bedrooms! It was perfect. Even our dog, Vegas, enjoyed the stay. We are always so grateful when rental properties are pet-friendly!

Coffee, Tea or Aprés Ski

After a day of snowboarding, we made sure to hit the hot tub at our chalet. We got to enjoy some downtime under the stars with the view of mountains. There is just something so relaxing about being in a hot tub. It was the best way to end the day! Also, it only took less than 10 minutes to drive to and from the hills, so even if you wanted to enjoy your aprés ski in the village you could easily do that and head back to the chalet in minutes. I must say, I would take the hot tub over a drink in the village any day!

Eat Good Feel Good

As mentioned, the Stay At Blue Mountain chalet we stayed at had the best kitchen and it was ideal for cooking up a big meal with all the space. We did enjoy a couple of meals at the chalet because my hubby just couldn’t resist being a chef in such a beautiful, open-concept kitchen like this one. We also ate out at Al Carbon, which is a Latin American inspired restaurant. It was so yummy!! I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese. We also ate at Fabbrica and enjoyed some delicious wood-oven pizza.

PS - I balanced all the good eating with a mini workout … did I mention there’s also an exercise area in the chalet too? Amazing, right?

Staycation Mode On

If you’re not yet convinced of just how awesome our trip was with Stay At Blue Mountain, then take some extra time to look at these pics. This place is just beyond stunning (and so clean)! If you’re interested in a staycation here at 107 Birch View Trail, you can use my code TRISHA2022 for a $250 credit. It’s valid for a minimum 2-night stay reservation and expires on January 31st, 2023. I know I am definitely going to head back there, but this time I’ll be coming with my entire extended family! It’s that BIG and absolutely perfect for a group stay! I do hope you get the chance to experience it - I know you will love it!
