Fascial Stretch Therapy
How many of you mamas are rolling it out? I definitely don't use my roller as much as I should to help massage out that muscle tightness (my mini plays with it more than I do) and let’s be serious, what I really needed was some major work to strengthen, lengthen and basically balance out my entire body! I had my first Fascial Stretch Therapy session this past weekend with the amazing trainer, Sarah (IG: @thestretchtherapist) and it’s changing my life - how I walk, stand, and exercise.
Okay so what is Fascial Stretch Therapy? I’m in the learning process here, but Chris Frederick, who is the Co-Director of the Stretch to Win Institute and co-author of the new book “Fascial Stretch Therapy™”, explains FST to be an innovative system of manual techniques and training used on clients and patients by certified professionals that can rapidly eliminate pain, improve mobility, restore impaired function and enhance both athletic performance and recovery.
But what makes it different? FST, unlike many other techniques, is pain free while also providing rapid results with long-lasting to permanent outcomes.
As a mother, I was dealing with tight hips, a pelvic tilt and tightness all through my lower back (likely from carrying this little one around the last few years). I felt an immediate difference right after my session!
Moms, seriously consider looking into it if you haven't already. If you’re local to Toronto, check out Sarah on Instagram (@thestretchtherapist) and message her to set up an appointment – she is known as the magician and now I know why!!
