My Top 10 Workout Wear Brands (#NotSponsored)

I think we can all agree that we have spent a lot of time in workout wear regardless if we are actually heading to the gym or not. 2020 was THE year for athleisure wear because being stuck at home wasn’t exactly a reason to pull out that little black dress and your 6 inch heels. With all that said, people have asked me what are my go-to fitness apparel brands, so I wanted to make sure I complied a (non-sponsored) solid list of the outfits, brands and shops I love. There is a lot out there and I’m sure I’ll probably miss a few (sorry), but here’s my top 10 list off the top of my head.

Lululemon

I know it’s not the most affordable, but man they sure know how to make a good high-waisted legging (their Align leggings are my fave). I appreciate how Lululemon has styles for all shapes and sizes and colours that go with every mood. I am all for variety, so love that they offer sports bras for every occasion - lots of support to not so much!

Jill Yoga

I might be bias here because we just launched a capsule collection with Jill Yoga, but I adore the mommy and me workout outfits. Trust me, it’s not always easy to pull of a twinning look. There is a lot out there, but for the most part twinning can get tacky real quick. Jill Yoga does a great job in the workout sector for mommy and me … plus, they’re Canadian!

Aurum Activewear

Inspired by the Periodic Table’s 79th element – Gold. Aurum activewear is made with years of thought and care. Their prints are funky, unique and versatile. Think bootcamp to brunch! Someone will definitely compliment you on your leggings when you wear them out of the house.

Good American

You can find this line here in Canada at any Sport Chek. Good American is a proud leader in the body positivity movement. I love their high waisted biker shorts and lived in them all summer! PS - their leggings also know where to hug in all the right places! Hello … Khloe Kardashion is the founder of Good American. Need I say more?

TMPL Sportswear

Their mission statement says it all: to create clean performance sportswear that is better for the planet, the body, and the human race. I love everything about every piece of TMPL clothing I own. When you start to learn about some of the toxicity in the sportswear industry, you can really appreciate the quality and care put into TMPL apparel.

STRONGER

This Swedish brand is designed to inspire women to lead a more active and confident lifestyle. The brand wants every piece to support you to be the strongest version of yourself. In addition to all that good stuff, Stronger always comes out with new prints and styles that are guaranteed to be a thumb stopper on the gram.

Spiritual Gangster

The reason I love Spiritual Gangster so much is because the brand is all about practicing gratitude, giving back, and choosing kindness! Their active tees always give off good vibes and I mostly wear them for low-impact workouts or yoga. Although it’s a US brand, you can still find it in various stores across Canada. I typically go to Culture Athletics in Toronto!

Old Navy Active

If you don’t want to break the bank, but still want cute workout wear that you can actually sweat in I would check out Old Navy. They have some great basics that are breathable and affordable. Simple and easy. I love it! Plus, there are some great matching options for the family.

Adidas

I will forever be an Adidas fan. Perhaps it’s nostalgic, but every piece is functional, fashionable and fun. I would definitely wear Adidas from the gym to the grocery story and straight to lunch with my girls. Comfort level is a 10/10 for me! Tip: I always scoop up my Adidas gear from The Hudson’s Bay; you can find some awesome deals!

Lolë

I couldn’t forget a quality Canadian brand that really puts mindfulness at the centre of it all. I really admire Lolë for creating pieces that can be worn during outdoor workouts in cold AND hot Canadian temps. You will never regret a purchase because of its quality! You will definitely have pieces that will last years!

As we close in on the last quarter of 2020, I am pretty confident athleisure isn’t going anywhere. Functional (and cozy) will probably be on trend for awhile. Although this top 10 list may change, this is just a quick snap shot of the brands I love today. I’ll be sure to update this post in the coming months. For now, I hope it helps you jazz up your workout wardrobe this season!
