Mother-Daughter Date Ideas

It is crazy how life can sometimes get the best of us and we always seem to be on the go! As a result, we start to feel a little disconnected … not only to ourselves, but to our kiddies too. We get caught up in just being “busy” all the time that days pass by quickly and we look back wondering how time flies so fast. It has gotten exceptionally harder with baby #2, so I’ve found it helpful to set time aside for actual “mother-daughter” dates.  This is a commitment that allows for solid quality time spent with Harper and Noa, either separately or together!

I’m sure many of you can relate and that’s why I thought it would be nice to share some of my favourite mother-daughter date ideas that you can do in Toronto. Many of the ideas you’re about to read can be used for Mother/Son outings too!

1.     Tea Party

This is not your ordinary tea party! At Labothéry you can customize your tea just the way you like it! It’s a lab-themed café and there is no menu because you get to select your own fresh ingredients!

2.    Cuddles and Coffee

Who knew there was a teddy bear themed café in Toronto? Enjoy your coffee while your mini plays with or shops for a little teddy to cuddle!

3.    Princess for a Day

Take a visit to Toronto’s very own castle. Casaloma never disappoints!

4.    Picnic at the Park

You don’t have to break the bank for this memorable experience. Have your kiddie help pack the picnic basket and be on your way! You can often find us at Trinity Bellwoods people watching or hanging by the splash pad.

5.    Get Artsy Together

We love Raising Artists for their parent and child workshops. Let those creative juices flow and then go home with a beautiful masterpiece.

6.    Get Cookin’ Good Looking

Check out Rooks to Cooks and make it even more fun by asking a few of your mommy friends with kids of similar ages to do a private cooking session together.

7.    A Family that Sweats Together …

Go for a bike ride or take a class together. For little ones, you can try Barre Babies or Yoga Babies at Toronto Yoga Mamas. The possibilities are endless and then after your workout go enjoy a healthy smoothie together at Fresh Restaurants or Impact Kitchen! Yummy!

8.    Pamper Party

My daughter loves getting a mani and pedi with me and this is by far our favourite thing to do together! Thanks to The Nail and Champagne Bar we enjoyed this amazing experience in the comfort of our own home.

I learned about The Nail and Champagne Bar (TNCB) just after having baby Noa. It was perfect timing, because sometimes it can be so challenging to get out of the house in the first few months. I loved the idea of bringing the spa to me! Now we can enjoy our mother-daughter date in our very own living room. Harper had a blast and chose rainbow colours for her pedicure and glitter for her mani! The girls at TNCB were so great with Harper and Noa too!

Sure, it’s nice to get out for mother-daughter dates, but this was an experience for the books. I know it’s still summer, but Harper loved it so much that we’ve already booked our Christmas holiday pamper session with TNCB! As mentioned, committing to these mother/daughter dates in advance gives you something to look forward to, which is much-needed QT with your little cutie!
