Review: The Best of Children's Booster Seats
Guys, I am so excited to announce that I have partnered with Babies“R”Us Canada this year and agreed to a very interesting role that I couldn’t turn down. They’ve asked me to review some key products and I’ve made a commitment to provide my honest opinion on each. I thought this would be such a fun partnership and one that I believed people would appreciate too. I know as a mother it can be so confusing when shopping for various items that it helps to read reviews to get the real deal beforehand. With that said, I’m kicking off this partnership with reviewing The Graco TurboBooster TakeAlong. If you’re in the market for a children’s booster seat, keep on reading!
The 4 C’s: Compact, Comfortable, Cool and Convenient
There is something about a car seat that is just so unappealing to Harper. It’s not that she fights me on it every day or anything but she’s made enough comments for me to know that she is longing for the comfort and freedom of a “big girl” seat. Moms as you know, most kiddos don’t get the highly-sought after seat upgrade until ages 8-12, but since my Harper is on… well… the extra tiny side, I think we have a ways to go until her glorious “Independence Day”.
Until then, I recently found one heck of a compromise: The Graco TurboBooster TakeAlong! It’s a seat that is compact, comfortable and “cool” enough for Harper and safe, long lasting and easily installed for me.
Our favourite feature, so far? The portability. It’s simply convenient. The Graco TurboBooster TakeAlong seat is lightweight and compact. It can be nested in highback mode and has a handle for easy storage and carrying. In backless mode, the seat folds easily in half via FastAction Fold. The seat came with a carry bag for the backless booster, which makes for easy portability and safety on the go. It’s an ideal feature for sleepovers at grandma’s place or even the occasional Uber ride. The carry bag also gives Harper some of that big girl responsibility she is looking for. The seat is light enough and conveniently stowed in the pack allowing her to carry her seat anywhere all on her own.
The Graco TurboBooster TakeAlong will also grow with her. Hello cost effective savings! The 2-in-1 booster is for kiddos 40-100 lbs. We are slowly transitioning Harper into the backless booster full-time, which we used to be exclusive to short distant rides.
The one-hand, six-position adjustable headrest easily adapts to a growing child. Like most car seats the TakeAlong has an open-loop belt, which allows Harper to properly position the car’s seat belt before buckling herself in.
Harper reports that the seat pad is just as comfortable as we were promised it would be and that the space-saving cup holders are great for any juice box! And on that note, moms, I can confirm that the seat pad is in fact machine washable… as a few juice spills have allowed me to discover.
As you’ve read, my experience with the Graco TurboBooster TakeAlong has been over the top positive. I made sure to also do my homework and sample another booster, which I won’t name, but I can promise that it didn’t even come close to hitting any of the 4 C’s I mentioned earlier. In my opinion, this booster seat lives up to all the hype!
