A Birthday Letter to My Younger Self
As I turn another year older and still learning how to embrace ageing gracefully and powerfully in my 40s, I thought it would be a good time to share some birthday wisdom with my younger self. Here goes!
Dear younger me,
First and foremost, let's talk about health. As we grow older, our bodies may change, especially after having babies. So, dear younger me, start prioritizing your health now. Fuel your body with nourishing foods, stay active in ways that bring you joy, and never underestimate the power of a good night's sleep. Take care of your body and show it love as it will take you through so many adventures. As cliché as it sounds, health truly is wealth.
You hear it all the time, but life really does have a funny way of speeding by in the blink of an eye. So young Gemini, take a deep breath, soak in the beauty of the present moment, and cherish every precious second. Whether it's a quiet moment with loved ones or that vacation sunset, be fully present and connected to the world and people around you.
Speaking of connections, as we journey through life, the relationships we cultivate become our greatest treasures. So, nurture those connections with love, kindness, and authenticity. Reach out to old friends, cherish moments with family, and surround yourself with people who lift you higher and fill your heart with joy. It’s also important to spend time connecting with yourself … nurture YOU and show yourself all the love because you deserve that too!
And as I blow out another candle on the birthday cake this year, I'm reminded of the importance of gratitude. Enjoy your youth, but never forget to take a moment each day to count your blessings, big and small. There is so much beauty to be found in the simple moments of life and often it’s the small things we take for granted. Don’t forget those little things!
So, here's to another year of growth, love, and endless possibilities. As you journey through this next chapter of life, remember to prioritize your health, stay present and connected, and never forget to sprinkle a little gratitude wherever you go.
With love and birthday wishes,
Your older and wiser self
