No Coffee, No Mommy!

What is it with a mother's relationship with coffee? I wasn't even coffee drinker before and now after having a baby, I NEED one to get me going. "Life begins after coffee". This is so true for me now and in fact, there are some health benefits to coffee. Check them out!

1. Cardiovascular Protection

A Japanese study that looked at individuals drinking two cups a day had a lower chance of dying from cardiovascular related diseases. No wonder we all have a soft spot for coffee in our hearts!

2. Up Your Energy

Because coffee contains a stimulant caffeine, mamas feel less tired and have more energy to deal with day-to-day mom life!

3. Aid in Weight Loss

Studies have been shown that caffeine can in fact boost one's metabolic rate by 3-11% ... bottoms up, mama!

4. Get in some Essential Nutrients

Okay so this surprised me, but some nutrients from the coffee bean actually make it to your cup. For instance, a single cup of coffee could contain:

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2): 11% of the RDA.

  • Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5): 6% of the RDA.

  • Manganese and Potassium: 3% of the RDA.

  • Magnesium and Niacin (B3): 2% of the RDA.

I guess we don't have to feel so bad about screaming for that coffee every morning while the kiddies run circles around you! Get in that java, mama and enjoy your day!
