Get Fit With The Fam! #CityLiving

As a mom of one I am still learning how to balance everything and I still get uptight when things go off schedule. I hear this becomes easier when baby #2 arrives (no, I’m not pregnant). Exercise has helped manage my stress and I laugh a lot more because of it. So this weekend, get moving wherever and whenever you can!

Living in the city there is so much to do every weekend! Here are just 5 things in Toronto that make for an active family outing (and they are easy on the wallet):

Toronto Island

Take a mini getaway to Centre Island. There is always lots to see and do for the kids … plus, there is likely an event going on every weekend. Wear comfy shoes, pack extra water and set your fit bit … you will be doing lots of walking!

Trinity Bellwoods Park

pack some lunch and have a picnic at the park! There is lots to see besides the local hipsters - kids love the playground, splash pad and large hills to run free on. You can walk the park and enjoy people watching all day long! And don’t get suckered into eating at Chippy’s across the street … your own lunch will do!

Riverdale Farm

If you haven’t checked out this city gem, it’s a definite must on your summer to-do list. It’s a 3-hectare municipally operated farm in the heart of Cabbagetown, an urban neighbourhood in Toronto. It makes for a great afternoon of walking all while admiring the different farm animals!

Waterfront Trail

Walk the boardwalk or bike the path along our city’s waterfront. It’s busy, but beautiful so take lots of pictures!

Brickworks Farmer’s Market: every Saturday you can enjoy the incredible farmer’s market and then walk the trail while munching on local goodies you just purchased. This never gets old. Ever.
