How to Turn Your Passion for Fitness into a Career

Do you love all things health and fitness? Have you ever considered turning that passion of yours into a full-blown career? If this is a thought that has crossed your mind one too many times, maybe this post is the sign you’ve been waiting for! I’ll tell you this: this blog started because to me I lived and breathed fitness pre-baby! Keep reading for my tips on how you can possibly take your passion for fitness to the next level.

Get your certs!

The most traditional route to take if you want to get your foot in the door is to invest in your personal training certifications or other certification in the fitness field you are most interested in. Once you have that under your belt, there are so many paths you can take. You can work at a studio/gym, offer 1:1 home training, group training sessions or run outdoor bootcamps!

Think Outside The Box

A career in fitness doesn’t necessarily mean personal training or coaching; if you’re not keen on the 1:1 aspect, maybe consider starting a youtube channel and sharing your workouts. Alternatively, you can start a blog to share your workouts and attract readers and brand partners to your website through your unique and awesome workout style!

Specialize

I find it really helps to get super specific on who you want to help in fitness. Do you want to focus on an older demographic or teach kids yoga? Are you a mother who would love to help others with their postpartum journey? Once you nail down your niche, you might find it easier to market yourself.

Think Bigger

What about opening up a health spa or managing a luxury fitness boutique? This is a different way to still make your love for a passion a successful career!

Consultant or Coach

I have friends in the fitness industry who have made a great career from being a health coach and/or consultant for big corporations. Essentially, they are hired to host workshops at various head offices to teach employees how to live happier and healthier lives. They love their job!

Fitness and Nutrition Go Hand in Hand

If you’re into fitness then you already know that nutrition is a big piece of the puzzle. Consider investing in nutrition certifications so that you can also support people with balanced lifestyle habits in the kitchen. Although you wouldn’t be a registered dietitian, you can still make a solid career as a nutritionist or health coach.

Social Media FTW

When you do decide to turn your passion for fitness into a career (hopefully sooner rather than later), then don’t forget how important it is to also create a social media account to support your new venture. Prospective clients will always look you up and having an online presence may help!

I am wishing you all the luck and if you’re interested in getting some 1:1 support when it comes to social media let me know by filling out this form. I look forward to helping you take the leap of faith (all in the name of fitness).
