How to Boost Your Social Media

by Really Social Team

Too often, we try to grow on social by posting more often and being “too social”. Unfortunately, this model rarely gives us positive results. We have clients who blame Instagram’s algorithm but in fact, there can be other reasons your socials are not getting the attention they deserve. Let’s go through each reason together:

  1. You do not have a clear vision & mission

Something we advise to all of our clients the moment we start working together is to define both vision and mission statements. These two statements guide us and help us remember our goals and priorities. Remember, when your vision is clear, strategy is easy.

  2. You are unsure who your audience is

In order to build a loyal and engaged community, you have to know who you’re talking to. Depending on the audience, your communication style, hashtags, content and the actual message would vary.

  3. You post whenever you have a free minute

We understand how hard it can be to stay consistent on socials when you have family, a job, and other responsibilities to take care of. We do not think you have to be present on social 24/7. However, to grow, we suggest being consistency by showing up on your social media platforms at least once a day. It can be done through Stories, IG Lives, Reels, or static in-feed posts. Your audience needs to know you are dedicated and consistent.

  4. You are not consistent on social media

We know this one might sound confusing. What we want to say is: engage with your audience whenever you have a chance to do so, and share Stories where your followers can see behind the scenes and get to know you better. But do not post just because you think you have to. If you feel down or uninspired, you might have to think about taking some time off social media and disconnecting. Sometimes, it is better to take a break and come up with good, engaging ideas than to share the content you feel unsure about.

  5. You do not give much thought to your content

Before you post on social media, make a habit of asking yourself a few questions:

    • What is in it for my followers?

    • Why should they care?

    • What value do I offer them?

    • What questions might they have?

    • What advice or help can I provide them?

These five questions can help you get a better understanding of your followers and the content you need to produce for them. Remember, you cannot grow a loyal and engaged audience if you do not think about what they want to see.

Lastly, we think it is crucial to stay up to date with the latest social media trends and each platform’s algorithms. For example, to grow on Instagram you have to be sharing Reels at least once a week while using the latest trending audios. Social media is constantly changing and bringing new features, and it wants you to adapt fast.

And we want to mention that we know how hard it can be to keep up with all the tech changes and updates. And the good news is: We are here for you.
